Susan Thomas is Senior Research Fellow and Co-Founder at XKDR Forum, Bombay. She did a BTech in civil engineering at IIT Bombay, and a PhD in economics at University of Southern California, Los Angeles, and was faculty at IGIDR Bombay where she led the work of the Finance Research Group (FRG). She was part of the policy process in the securities market reforms in the 1990s and 2000s, and the bankruptcy reforms of the mid-2010s. She does quantitative and policy-oriented research on what makes for economic growth, using a inter-disciplinary approach. She has work in the fields of finance, legal systems, and public finance management, particularly in the area of public procurement and the impact of government schemes on economic growth.
