Sudha Mahalingam is an energy economist and lawyer, having obtained her PhD in regulatory economics from University of Technology, Sydney, and LLB from Delhi University. In 2023, Springer Nature published her book ’Independent Energy Regulation in a Developing Economy which she co-authored with Kapilan Mahalingam. Sudha was Raja Ramanna Chair Professor at National Institute of Advanced Studies, Bangalore until 2022. She has been a full-time member of PNGRB, India’s petroleum regulatory authority since its inception for five years. She was also energy member of National Security Advisory Board. She has been a Senior Fellow at Nehru Memorial Museum and Library, visiting fellow in George Washington University, Member, Scientific Advisory Board of Delft University. Her engagement with energy regulation spans three decades.
