Dr Ananth Padmanabhan is the Dean of Vinayaka Mission’s Law School, and an expert in technology law and policy. After graduating from the National Law School of India University in Bangalore in 2007, he practiced law in Chennai for 6 years under the tutelage of Shri Arvind P. Datar, Sr. Advocate. After his first book on intellectual property rights came out in 2012, he decided to transition to a career in academia. He has completed his law master’s and doctorate from the University of Pennsylvania’s Penn Carey Law School, and a masters in management science from the Stanford University’s Graduate School of Business. Prior to his stint at VMLS, Ananth has served as the Founding Dean of the law school at Sai University, Chennai, and program lead for the technology and policy research vertical at the Carnegie Endowment for International Peace, New Delhi.
